Meet the Team at Ferguson Family Dental

Our entire team at Ferguson Family Dental enjoys getting to know families personally and building lasting relationships with our patients. Our dental team has families of our own, and we will always treat your family like we would want ours to be treated—with the utmost respect, care, and consideration!

Our Practice's History

Formerly known as Stephen Mills Family Dentistry, our dental practice was first established in 1984 by Dr. Stephen Mills. For decades, Dr. Mills and his team provided exceptional dental care to families and neighbors in Spokane, WA.

Now that Dr. Mills is retired, Dr. Nic Ferguson is the new owner and primary dentist at Ferguson Family Dental. Dr. Ferguson is a highly skilled, compassionate, and experienced family dentist who enjoys working with patients of all ages.

Our Kind and Experienced Team

Our dental team is friendly and patient-focused; we aim to help our patients attain optimal oral health and have beautiful, healthy smiles that last a lifetime. Everyone on our team has years— or even decades—of experience in providing inclusive and compassionate family dentistry in Spokane, WA.

We are passionate about helping patients attain their brightest and healthiest smiles, which is why we continuously seek new learning opportunities and implement proven state-of-the-art technologies and techniques.

When you visit Ferguson Family Dental, you can rest assured that you will receive the most personalized and highest quality dental care available by people who genuinely care!

Dr. Nic Ferguson

Dentist

Dr. Ferguson is a kind and caring dentist who enjoys providing excellent, individualized dental care. Originally from Hood River, Oregon, Dr. Nic Ferguson earned his
Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry in 2017. Fascinated by science and math, Dr. Ferguson always knew he wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. During his undergraduate studies, he shadowed doctors in various fields, but quickly realized that a career in dentistry was a perfect fit. His years of experience as a dentist have solidified his love of helping patients work toward their optimal health by achieving their brightest smiles.

Dr. Ferguson purchased the dental practice from Dr. Mills in March 2021. Dr. Ferguson and his family are overjoyed to be a part of the Spokane community.

When he’s not at the dental office, Dr. Ferguson spends time with his wife Melanie and their two sons, Neil and Scott. Together, they explore the outdoors by hiking, camping, biking and fly fishing.

"My favorite thing about being a dentist is the opportunity to develop a relationship with my patients and provide quality dentistry. I love the opportunity to help people maintain healthy smiles in a fun and caring environment." —Dr. Nic Ferguson

In 1982, she earned her Certified Dental Assistant license, and she earned her Registered Dental Assistant, x-ray, and coronal polish licenses in 1987. Always eager to learn, Michelle returned to school in 2010 and earned her license for Expanded Functions Dental Assistant.

Mary

Dental Hygienist

Mary is our fun-loving dental hygienist who has been part of our team since 2017. She holds degrees in Elementary Education and Dental Hygiene from Eastern Washington University. One of Mary’s favorite aspects of being a dental hygienist is seeing a patient’s oral health improve and hearing patients’ stories.

Like many of our team members, Mary was born and raised in Washington, and she enjoys exploring the great outdoors with her husband, three kids, and their dog. Whether they're hiking, camping, boating, or skiing, Mary and her family can be found soaking up the sights and sounds of life outdoors.

Shannon

Office Manager

Shannon is our upbeat and driven office manager who has been with our practice since 2009. She was actually a patient before she began working at our practice! Shannon is from Oroville, Washington, which is only four miles south of the Canadian border. Growing up, she and her family frequently visited Canada and explored the country together. One of Shannon’s favorite aspects of being our office manager is all the people she meets. She loves helping people feel at ease and building relationships with patients.

In her spare time, Shannon enjoys spending time with family and dabbling in paper crafts, such as card-making and scrapbooking.
